Dear Agnes,

I daresay you wonder why you have not heard from me for so long, the reason is, I had not got your address & when in London last fortnight

I was able to get it from young George Lock.

I trust this letter will find you in good health & circumstances as I am glad to say it leaves us all well-I was surprised to learn that several of your

family are now married & setting up home of their own .

I  know Florence was married, I met her in London just before it came off, but I had no idea about the others till I heard it in London just recently,

I only hope they may have good health, long life, & much happiness.

I am afraid my family are not the marrying sort, as I have 4 of marriageable age & yet neither of them is so much as courting let alone

marrying, they are certainly not following in their parent’s footsteps as we were 20 & 21 when we made a run for it.

My boy Charley is over in Canada he was 26 last June. (Sadly a few short months later  Charley had died (AMG))

My eldest daughter Alice who is 28 next is still at home with us. My next daughter Ethel is teaching at the Taunton school of art & Mabel

is in the fancy goods business & was 21 last Saturday week.

Nelly my youngest daughter is in the photography business .The eldest of the boys at home (Harold) I have just got into business and

have placed him at Whiteleys Westbourne grove, that is what took one to London.

The other 4 boys go to school.

I feel as I look round and I see my family growing up and getting on that I have much to be thankful for. I have worked hard and often really

for that and I am pleased to see the first part of the harvest reaped in the respect and esteem in which we are all held in our town and

neighbourhood and which I hope and trust we shall always merit.

With very kindest regards and best wishes to you all believe me.

Yours sincerely,

Chas . W . Gagg

I understand my sister Rose’s daughter is now living in Liverpool so probably you may see something of her shortly,

I don’t know her address. CWG
