| Thomas Topott Gagg born in the late 1700,s married to Jemima, first child Elizabeth Topott born 1815-Thomas Topott born 1819 married (not known) widowed married Harriet Mason first child Charles William born 1863 -Rosina born -Emily born 1869 -Jemima(jemmy or mima)-Christopher born in 1875 married Alice Apsey who was killed in an accident with a horse & dray near St Thomas's Hospital in Feb 1906 .Emily was carrying her baby daughter Emily at the time of the accident ,Alice lived for some days, Emily survived the accident, but Christopher was so distraught by the death of Alice that he could not cope with the baby so Emily's godmother 'adopted her. Emily immigrated to Australia or the US with her 'adopted' family. Christopher & Alice had five children in all ,my grandfather the eldest born 31st October 1897, His grandfather Thomas died 11 days after Christopher was born & at the time of his death was living in the next road to Christopher & Alice .Most of the family were living close to each other, Uncles aunts brothers & sisters. They all seemed to move around together. Alice(Lal) was born in 1901,Florence in 1902,Nell in 1903 & Emily 1905. Christopher remarried in 1907 to a family friend Eleanor Jones ,seven more children were born, they were Eleanor born 1907,Frederick born 22nd October 1908 Thomas Henry born November 27th 1910, Bertie who died aged two, Francis Harold born 1913, & Frances born June 1918. At the time of writing October2002 Fred is still in good health & reaches his 94th birthday on the 25th October, Frances is also doing well at 84.* Updating this in April 2006, Fred and Frances are still going strong, Frances will be 88 in June and Fred 98 in october *Christopher( born 1897) married Rose Fisher they had seven children, Chistopher born 1920, Benjamin born 1922, George born 1923,Frederick born 1925, Lena born 1927 on the same day as her father 31st october, Thomas & Rosie. Ben and Tommy died some years ago, Lena has had some recent health problems as has Christopher both are on the mend at the time of writing this update April 2006. Alice(born1901) married Alf Johnson they had four children Alfred,Eileen,Peter, Robert(Bob) Bob & his wife Dianne now live in Australia. Florence married twice her first husband was Bert Reepe ,some time after his death she married Bill May. There were no children from either marriage. Nell married Albert Jones the stepbrother of Eleanor Jones ,they had two children Sheila & June. Emily is thought to have kept the Gagg name until she married. Eleanor married David Bailey & had two children ,Kenneth & June. Frederick married Rebecca in 1930 they had children Frederick, Christine & Kenneth. Thomas Henry was unmarried. Bertie died aged two. Francis(Frank) married Hilda they had three children, Christine & Jaqueline(twins) & Elaine. Harold married Mary Moore they had two children, Mary & Bernard. Frances married Alec Savino they had one child Colin. |
